A branch library organized around a daylit reading room with a deep roof overhang that keeps the Texas sun off the glass year-round.

The reading room's north-facing clerestory brings in consistent daylight without the glare that plagues most branch libraries, and the deep overhang cuts summer cooling loads enough that the branch runs on a fraction of the district's typical energy budget.
