Overview

A single-family renovation built around a central courtyard, opening the main living spaces to the Hill Country light on three sides. Sliding glass walls let the interior dissolve into the garden during the long Austin evenings.

The clients came to us with a dated 1970s ranch home and a simple brief: let in the light and make the backyard usable year-round. We stripped the plan back to its structure, replaced the rear wall with a folding glass system, and added a covered breezeway that now functions as the family's primary gathering space nine months of the year.
